What is OmniBlog?
OmniBlog is a unique website devoted to showing off the work of bloggers around the world. Each of our sites draws in the best blogs on a particular topic or area of interest (from film to football, pop music to politics) and puts them in one place for a one-stop blogging shop.
How does it work?
Simply put, whenever one of our registered bloggers posts on his or her blog, within minutes a preview of that post shows up in the index of one of our sites. Visitors to OmniBlog can then click on a link to read the full post on the original blog.
Our aim is to make reading blogs on your favourite subject as easy as possible by saving you the trouble of subscribing to and regularly checking a variety of blogs or RSS feeds. We also want to give bloggers who might not be getting the exposure they deserve extra traffic to their site.
Go on then, how much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing. OmniBlog is both free for our readers and free for bloggers to share their work on. Our running costs are covered by advertising space sold on our sites and we do not ask for a single penny from anybody except our advertisers.
What kind of sites appear on OmniBlog?
We are dedicated to supporting salt of the earth, grass roots bloggers who run their own blog for the sheer love of it. We do not list blogs and sites that are part of large commercial networks* because, well, they’ve got enough of an advantage already. We support the underdogs.
The blogs featured on OmniBlog sites cover the whole range of the topics of the individual OmniBlog sites. Variety is key.
*That isn’t to say sites with adverts aren’t welcome. In fact, part of the reason is for OmniBlog’s existence is to help bloggers make a little bit of money for their efforts, rather than their money going straight in the pockets of the big boys.
